THE COCAINE CHRONICLES
edited by
Gary Phillips & Jerbey Tervalon

The Cocaine Chronicles is an anthology of narcotic themed tales. Nothing to Snort At...so it says on the back cover.

And, right after the Table of Contents is a photo of the two editors, both wearing sunglasses, both looking 'hard'. (red flag #1) Then, I read the first page of the introduction where the two editors interview themselves and refer to each other as "G". (red flag #2)

I almost put the book on top of the what-never-to-do-when-editing-an-anthology pile, but my curiosity wouldn't let me stop reading. These guys scored the writing talent of Jerry Stahl, so, I better read on.

And, thank God I did. Every story is A+. All contributors are top notch writers, including the two "G"s who contribute stories themselves.

It's funny timing to receive this book since we're doing our similar themed Sex & Drug anthology that's coming out in a couple of months.

But, let me put it to myself bluntly. If you can afford to buy only ONE drug themed anthology this year, make it The Cocaine Chronicles. If you can afford two drug themed anthologies, then also purchase our forthcoming Chemical Lust.

Again, every writer in The Cocaine Chronicles kicks ass. This anthology should be required reading for writers who want to master the craft of the short story.

Thanks Gary and Jervey for rockin' my literary world.
