Until 2000, Nicholas Karavatos lived mostly in the California counties of Humboldt, Orange, and San Francisco. In his 20s he hitchhiked every summer around the West. In the fall of 2006 he will be an Assistant Professor of Language & Literature at the American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. His poems have appeared in After the Fallen, Blackbox, Certain Stones, Country Activist, debt, Earth First! Radical Environmental Journal, and Edge City Magazine.
