Christopher Barnes - May/June 2009

SNOWFARI WEDDING

               BBrrrrrr crystals.
It's the bandit's daughter's fete
But they've never nodded-in requests.
"Splish splash I was taking a bath"
Not to mince the matter
Is a trifle offensive (amongst cake and champagne)
To ears polite.

The hydrophonic orchestra is snowflakes.
       Font melodies. Sprinkles.
Rapids in a tube. Sucky drains.
                                             Unrespected
       Artists of dulcet chambers.
Balancing the atonement of oceans.

The bandit do-littles on a sledge
Cursing a pedigree of huskies, points a blunderbuss
As a calliope seal
Dives into an ice-hole.

Bang! The minstrel's agent's shot,
Cold-sweating on a fireballed stage.
Puddles splosh rouge

"I do," they say, squinting at musical blood.
                          Icicles elongate
                        Frostbit.
