The Crack - May 2008

THE CRACK

Here's your last chance to enter the Cherry Bleeds Literary Awards since the deadline is May 31. No extensions, no backs, no matter how many submissions we have, that's the end. I know some contests will extend deadlines if they don't receive enough submissions. We have a heavy year ahead of us, so that's not an option.

You're welcome to witness my humiliation at Literary Death Match on May 10th @ the Rickshaw Stop if you're in the San Francisco area. I'm reading a new piece and reading with the likes of Stephen Elliott and Michelle Richmond. Introduce yourself if you come out.

As you'll notice, there are a few changes happening at Bleeds, and our poetry editor promised some more ideas when he gets back from Humbolt County.

Literary Love, after almost seven years of tender affection, is now the Drinks with Tony Book Club. I'm working with publishers right now to make copies of books available to readers who enter our monthly contest, more info on that soon.

Editor Schmeditor is going bye bye since I'm working on way too many writing projects and the last thing I need to do is add to my plate at the moment. Even Drinks with Tony is going down to twice a month starting in June.

The Crack will pretty much be a straight forward whaddup regarding people of Cherry Bleeds....so contributors and editors, get me your readings and publication announcements and I'll put them here.

Thanks for reading and keep those great submissions coming in.
